Portugal Off-Road Motorcycle Expedition
FOSILTRIPS, MÁLAGA MOTOCENTER (official Yamaha dealer), TIM YAYA and PONT GRUP offer you a spectacular expedition through some of Portugal’s most fascinating regions: the Algarve mountains, the Atlantic coast, and the historic borderlands (raia). The route crosses the country from east to west and from south to north, starting in Vila Real de Santo António and finishing in Bragança.
This is a 6-day journey through highly contrasting landscapes, almost literally stitching together the Portuguese-Spanish border from the second stage onwards, after first exploring the entire Algarve mountain range.
1,800 km off-road through remote areas in both countries, across natural parks and spectacular mountain ranges: firebreak trails, technical sections, sand, and mountain tracks — combined with 4- and 5-star hotels and outstanding restaurants.
Itinerary
Day 1: Vila Real de Santo António – Sagres
Mountain tracks. From the Algarve mountains to Cape São Vicente. A must-visit to the Sagres Fortress to watch the sunset. Special hotel with exceptional views.
Day 2: Sagres – Beja
Trails and sand. A diagonal mountain stage across Portugal, entering the Baixo Alentejo region. Historic hotel.
Day 3: Beja – Elvas
A spectacular and complete stage crossing the Alqueva region with breathtaking scenery. Hotel with historic surroundings. Essential to raise a glass in front of these remarkable landmarks.
Day 4: Elvas – Castelo Branco
More demanding terrain. Narrower and more technical trails and mountains as we head north. Luxury hotel.
Day 5: Castelo Branco – Torre de Moncorvo
Epic mountain stage and trails between ancient stone walls. Very special hotel located within a wine estate.
Day 6: Torre de Moncorvo – Bragança
